Tulum Green Expo 2010 or how to create environmental awareness
Environmental conservation, ecology and care of nature are priority issues for governments around the world. For a a destination like Riviera Maya, full of natural wonders and protected areas, it is even more important.
The Ya’ax Green Expo was created three years ago with a clear objective in mind: to promote environmental awareness and education among all residents and visitors of the Riviera Maya. Attendees can sample new technologies, practices and techniques of sustainable environmental protection.
This year, the expo will take place on April 8th and 9th at the Parque Museo de la Cultura Maya in Tulum, where more than 30 exhibitors will interact with business executives, artists, investors and tourists, presenting the latest technological tools to improve homes or businesess with a green set of mind.
Attendees will also learn techniques for green construction, wastewater treatment, the use of renewable energies -powered by the Sun or wind-, and even how to recycle paper!
Admittance is free, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. From 10 am to 6 pm there will be a series of lectures; from 6pm onwards the expo has a cultural program which includes art exhibits, fashion shows, classical music and dance.
On April 8th in the evening the expo will host a classical music ensemble. On April 9th attendees will enjoy a fashion runway, with organic-fiber clothing by designer Marcos Ruiz, followed by a flamenco dancing show with María Díaz group. The evening will end with a concert by Bryan Paris and Frank Nastri.
The first edition of the Green Expo, three years ago, it had about 500 visitors; on 2010, organizers expert more than 2,000. Don’t miss it!
